| note that the best numbers are with AMSOIL at the thinnest viscosity...read thinnest as more POWER. some of the competitors have better numbers but only with a thicker viscosity...naturally. also, zinc, which is overrated as a component of lubrication is nearly non-existent in AMSOIL since simply adding zinc to the lubricant without chemical formulation does not necessarily render better lubrication. this chart illustrates why AMSOIL is so much better. you want the thinnest viscosity to allow freer movement of the parts of the motor, i.e.: more power. is it easier to move a knife through mud or water? however, you also want the oil to lubricate those moving parts so that there is as little wear as possible, and you also want the oil to remain stable in all conditions such as cranking in extreme cold, maintain it's integrity under high heat conditions and resist breaking down into chemicals that will result in varnish, sludge and coking on the parts of the motor. if i missed something please reply and i'll do my best to cover it. :)
BTW, you are an Amsoil ho - BigTDogg (MA) on July 19, 2006 at 2:26 PM vette schmette! if it's so cool, go trade. Zs rule! - davidztt 03:02:45 07/02/06 If I could trade, I would. - Kenny 03:08:22 07/02/06 (0) "We don't care." (n/m) - YugoBernie (NoVA) 14:17:25 06/16/06 |
